The Contributions Of Guido D'Arezzo To Learning

Guido D'Arezzo was an Italian medieval music theorist of the 11th century, whose approach to music teaching has shaped music learning for several centuries, especially in the aspect of music notation and theory. Born c. 990, —died 1050, Guido D'Arezzo' principles served as a foundation for modern Western musical notation. He first improved and reworked standard notation to be more user-friendly by adding time signatures. Then he invented solfege. This is the vocal note scale: do, re, mi, fa, so, la ,ti, do.

D'AREZZO INSTITUTE OF CREATIVE EDUCATION

The D'Arezzo Center is for Creative Education and Expression. It is designed as an activities center to inspire creativity within each individual, and the synergy of groups working together, creating an environment where the fabric of the inner being, woven with natural talents, gifts and applied knowledge - empowers new innovations.

WHO IS THE CENTER FOR?

Home School and Independent Study Students / After School Students

The D'Arezzo Center is for people of all ages. During designated days the Center is available to Homeschool students and families and independent study students.  Parents, Staff, Interns and Volunteers support and guide students with their academics, electives, individual and group projects.
